Ethan Allen showroom provides high-end service for clients in Rochester and Syracuse.
For almost a century, Ethan Allen has been selling high-quality furniture that lasts a lifetime. Its focus on equally excellent customer service continues to expand with personalized, technology-driven design consultations.
“Through specialized software, we work directly with clients to help them choose the perfect furniture, along with artwork and other accessories, which meets their family’s vision and needs,” explained Selma Hammer, assistant general manager and executive designer at the showroom in Victor, New York, near Rochester. “We can create a 3-D or 2-D rendering of your space, lay out the furniture, and help you select the paint colors to complete the room.”
An 11,000-square-foot showroom opened in Victor in 1972, and on November 30, 2022, a second, more intimate showroom, opened in Dewitt, New York, outside of Syracuse.
A grand opening took place on December 8.
“At 2,500 square feet, the Syracuse location is more like a design studio,” Hammer said. “It’s a new concept, a smaller and more efficient use of space.”
Three designers are ready to help clients, primarily through appointments, but walk-in clients are welcome too.
“In both our locations,” Hammer said, “clients will find world-class design services that are complimentary.”
While key pieces can be viewed in person in the new location, designers can help clients peruse a large inventory of living, dining, and bedroom furnishings online.
Jared Roth is the owner and general manager of both locations. The opening of the Syracuse showroom brought his family’s involvement with Ethan Allen full circle.
His grandfather, Robert Roth, and great-uncle, Berkely “Bud” Roth, initially founded a dealer Ethan Allen store in Syracuse in 1965 and expanded into Eastview Mall in Victor, NY in 1972. The Syracuse store later changed hands to corporate and closed in 2021.
“When the corporate location closed, it was perfect timing to open a dealer showroom again in Syracuse,” Hammer said. “In this part of the state, there isn’t a lot of competition for this level of furniture and service.”
Ethan Allen Global operates its own manufacturing facilities mainly throughout North America. The Roth family owns a service center and employs an in-house delivery team that allows for top notch customer service extending from the moment you step into the showroom until the furniture reaches your home.
Even three years after the COVID-19 pandemic began, people continue to work and entertain more at home, Hammer noted, and because of rising real estate prices, they’re updating their current homes with new furnishings rather than moving.
The showrooms are design destinations, and inventory changes four times a year.
“The look is always new and fresh,” Hammer said. “People who visit us immediately get ideas of how they can make their space new and exciting.”
