Prime examples are a Rochester-area attorney and her husband who approached Avino years ago to design the full interior of their new-build in Mendon, New York. In 2023, they came to her again, this time to redesign the first floor of a house in Pittsford that they had purchased a few years earlier. An outdated kitchen was a major component of the project.
“I thought about remodeling the kitchen but kept putting it off,” the homeowner said, citing the pandemic as one reason for the delay. “Then I decided that if I was going to do this, I needed to call Kathleen.”
IDG, which offers full design, construction and project management services, completed the kitchen transformation at the end of 2023.
Other specialties include additions, bathroom remodels, millwork design and a drapery workroom.
“Kathleen did an excellent job of staying on top of everything. We were talking and texting all the time. I was very impressed by how she coordinated every detail of the project,” said the homeowner.
“Everything looks beautiful, and the work was top-notch.”
The kitchen project began by updating five skylights. A more inviting floor plan was achieved by removing a wall and two built-in closets. The expert installation went on to include custom solid wood cabinetry with a dark stain, which provides a rich contrast
to the painted island topped with granite in Pitaya White. The kitchen peninsula features that same natural Fine Design On Time
stone, while the luxury backsplash was crafted from Carrara marble.
Professional series appliances, updated plumbing fixtures, new flooring and sleek lighting completed the stunning design.
