ROBERT ALLEN UPDATES FAVORITE HUES
IN FALL 2013
COLOR LIBRARY: CLASSIC COLOR
Rich Tones and Designs for the New Traditional
Encourage Layering and Playful Maximalism

(October 2013--New York, NY) -
Robert Allen is reinventing the quintessential prepster color palette with an updated edge for its new Fall 2013 Color Library: Classic Color. Classic Crimson, Lacquer Red, Navy Blazer, Billiard Green, and Chalkboard shine in this collection of timeless designs, which encourages designers to play with layering for a maximalist look using a mix of fresh and classic patterns.

Vice President of Design for Robert Allen Christy Almond explains, "Classic Color celebrates the new traditional design aesthetic. The colors can be put together for a range of looks from sophisticated and neutral to bold and contemporary. We want designers to have fun with this collection make it their own through layering and mixing the patterns and colors."

Driving the inspiration behind the designs was the world of maximalism. This trend reflects a confidence of style and a familiarity with a broad decorative vocabulary that mixes a variety of looks for a truly individual space of curated and collected pieces. The Fall Color Library pulls this look together by interpreting these patterns in clean, crisp colors. The collection represents a sophistication that is still spirited and whimsical, with fashion and worldly influences.

With names that recall school days gone by, the saturated colors featured in the collection are leading the way in the worlds of both interiors and fashion. Classic tones like Navy Blazer and Chalkboard serve as neutral anchors, while deep Classic Crimson, crisp Lacquer Red, and bold Billiard Green give a modern pop. Accents of mint, citrus, and pink further punctuate the line with a contemporary twist.

The designs, too, celebrate the classics by updating the styling on iconic patterns with universal appeal, such as the paisley, zigzag, floral, botanical, and check. Designs of note include:

Fun Paisley's oversized print pumps up the volume on a classic design in six cool colors: Billiard Green, Chalkboard, Classic Crimson, Cranberry, Lacquer Red, Navy Blazer.
