IIDA NY SERVES UP CREATIVE BRILLIANCE AT ITS ANNUAL LEADERS BREAKFAST
The event draws more than 650 attendees to support contributions made by design peers
New York, NY—On Tuesday, May 13th, the International Interior Design Association New York Chapter (IIDA NY) partnered with Interior Design magazine to host the organization’s 25th annual Leaders Breakfast. This year, more than 650 industry and design professionals from all over New York City and beyond gathered at Upper East Side venue 583 Park Avenue to celebrate one of IIDA NY’s largest and most highly anticipated events. During the breakfast, keynote speaker Todd Henry explored event theme, “Work/Life Integration for the Creative Professional,” through fun visuals and advice for how to stay on top of your creative game.
The breakfast began with a coffee reception followed by a sit-down breakfast in the main ballroom. Opening remarks included a tribute to this year’s IIDA New York Chapter’s honoree, David Burney. The former Commissioner of the NYC Department of Design and Construction and current chair of the Center for Active Design was honored for his dedication and work in the community and A&D industry. “David's commitment to design excellence from small renovations to large city infrastructure improvements over the past 10 years with DDC demonstrates the power of design has on civic projects,” said Steven South, chapter president of IIDA NY. “His continuation of his work at DDC in developing the Center for Active Design demonstrates the power of design to affect national healthy issues. David's ability to take what we as designers do each day and have such a positive impact on New York City and beyond made him the easy choice to be our honoree for IIDA NY.”
